I found this box bag tutorial a long while back and was excited to have some time to make one for my mom's birthday. It was really easy once I worked out some of the kinks from the tutorial, and I definitely hope to make some more. I used some Peltex, heavy interfacing, to make it really sturdy. I think it would make a really great toiletry bag or for some yarn and needles for a take-along project bag. :-)

That is awesome! I need a Michelle sewing lesson. Did I tell you a friend gave me her mom's sewing machine, so I'm ready to get stitching.
I don't know how you find time to make such cute stuff, but it all turns out so adorable!
Oh By! That's so exciting! Many fun adventures await you....
Yours turned out really nice, very professional looking...and CUTE fabric, too. I tried a couple with some leftover purse fabric and gave them as gifts. I had to read thru those intructions quite a few times. What I'm still not sure about is did you put the zipper on the long side or the shorter side (12 inch I think was the short end). I put mine on the long side, but I think that may have been wrong. Anyway, they are fun and I'm hoping to make more if I can "perfect" them!
Thanks for sending me that link!
Lindsay - I put it on the 12" side since the zipper was that length, it all lined up nicely. But there were a couple weird things that I had to work out, too, like I can't figure out why she marked the 3rds and sewed just the middle third of the ends because if you wanted to make smaller triangles, it would have left a hole in the end....so I just sewed all the way across and that worked well, that way I could adjust the size of the bag. Glad you got it figured out, though!
That is the coolest bag ever! I love the pattern you picked out too! I am just in awe over your mad skills!!!
That is really cute! Where do you usually get your fabric from?
WOW! Your mom will love it. You do good work!! I'm so impressed!
Am....I usually get my fabric at a store called Beverly's, just a craft store out here, like a small scale Michaels or something. I also have ordered fabric from JCaroline on line, she has great stuff. :-)
WOW! So cute, Michelle! You continue to impress me!!!! Awesome!
There you go, being all crafty again! I don't know how you have time for all your craftiness... I think you're way more organized and disciplined than me. I have a sewing machine I should dust off and do something with. (Well, it's not THAT dusty... I did make those less-than-impressive basket liners! Ha!)
