Sewing fun

About a month ago I made this purse for a friend, and I had so much fun making it. I had made one for a different friend early this summer and she was carrying it one day and someone commented on it to her at a coffee shop and she told her her friend made it for her and told her my name cuz she wanted to order one, and come to find out we knew each other from playing Bunco a few years ago! What a small world. So I had ordered this awesome canvas from JCaroline and it was calling out to be made into a bag. I love the way it came out. These are the kinds of things I wish I had more time to make, but there will be a day and time. :-)

Love it! Amy made a whole set of bags, diaper/wipe bags, zippies, etc. in this fabric, but in aqua/brown! It's on her blog... go see! Sooo pretty. You do such great work. I carry my bag every day and get so many compliments on it!

*sigh* I want to be you when I grow up.

Also, sorry I haven't called you back. :(

SO CUTE! I'm so curious who the Bunco friend was that found you through your bag! :)

Hey Amy....it was Sam, remember her? So funny to reconnect with her that way, she's so nice. She has 2 kids now.

Cathy...I started with a tutorial I found here: http://www.tinyhappy.typepad.com/tiny_happy/2006/06/shoulder_bag_tu.html, but I've tweaked it a bit with various measurements. :-)

Thanks for your sweet comment! That made my day! I feel the same about you. I guess we will have to settle with being long distance "bloggin' buddies"...for now, at least :)

I JUST bought some more fabric to make another bag, like this one. They are a lot of fun! Yours turned out super-cute. I'm going to make my next one a bit bigger. Too much stuff to jam in my purse!

Also, I loved your post below. It's so hard to realize when your in the thick of it, that time really does go by so quickly when your kids are little. I am already starting to feel it with two of mine in school now. Just wish I could stop time, somehow! I heard this quote about rasing little ones and thought it seemed so true, "the days will be long, but the years will be short." (or something like that!)

Wow! Sorry, that was a long one!

That is such a cute purse, Michelle!! I love the colors!

And I think that next year you, me, and Lindsay should all go to the MOPS convention together, okay?

Oh yeah, Christi.....I'd love to do Convention with you guys, that would be a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!! It was SO much fun, but I can only imagine how much more fun it would be to go with fun girlfriends! It's in Nashville next year! I've always wanted to go there.
