A Weekend with the Girls

Jason and some of his buddies from college have been getting together every year for a long weekend to have some fun and refreshing guy-time. This year a few of their wives (Kelli, Byranie & Ashley) came to stay at our house for the weekend so we could have some fun while they were away. It was a great weekend, albeit a tad crazy at times with 7 kids 4 & under and 4 of us moms in our place. But we had fun and so did the kids. I think by the end of the weekend we were surprised (or at least I was!) that we had only left the house for a total of about 4 hours. It was a beautiful weekend, and it's too bad we didn't get to spend more time outside, especially since Ashley had never been to California!, but it was just hard with all the various napping schedules of everyone! We had great conversations on the couch after the kids had gone down for bed, and it was just fun to get to know each other better and just to be together. I hope we can do it again.

And before the girls came, we got to have Jason's sister Bridget and her family from Colorado stay with us for a night as they drove up the coast. It was a bummer he missed them, but we had a good time together, and it was fun to get to show them where we've lived for the past 5 years!

A highlight of the weekend was jumping on Livi's bed to some Bible music, especially the B-I-B-L-E song, it was cute. They had so much fun.

One of our outings was to the park and a walk to get coffee.

Livi adored baby Natalie.

So fun!

Your beach pictures always make me a teensy bit jealous. Just so you know.

Michelle, this was a great time! Thank you for letting us get together at your home. I loved getting to know you better and Reese cannot stop talking about all of you. Look forward to when we can get our families together... hopefully sooner than later.

A brave and entertaining way to pass the time as single moms! Looks like you guys had a great time! Love the fun things you've sewn...I'm afraid I'll have to continue to buy such things (as I haven't the skill...or time:)
